Forest River buses, on the other hand, do have seat belts on their buses. However, a recall that was issued in July stating that the seat belts are improperly welded to the bus seats, which could cause the belts to easily break during the force of impact in the event of a crash.

In September 2018, Forest River submitted a report to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) regarding the strength of the washers, which are used to mount the passenger seat belt assemblies to the seat frame or B pillar, depending on the bus model. The report noted that the washers were improperly manufactured by using over heat treatment, which could cause them to become brittle and crack in some cases.
The following 2017-2018 vehicles have been recalled for the seat belt mounting defect:
The defect was caused by the negligent or careless assembly of the bus because the manufacturer did not account for the possibility that over heat treating the washers in order to mount them could cause them to ultimately crack under pressure. This is called a manufacturing defect.
