Taxi Cabs in Florida are Required to Carry Taxi Insurance

Under Florida’s taxi law, a taxi driver must carry Bodily Injury Liability (BIL) coverage of $125,000 per person, $250,000 per occurrence and $50,000 for property damage liability (PDL) coverage.

The law involving taxi cab accidents may be different in Florida than those just involving cars or trucks. For example, Florida’s no-fault or PIP law generally does not apply to a taxi accident as taxis are excluded from the statute.
