The Power Pressure Cooker is sold under different models and through different distributors. Most of these pressure cookers are manufacturered in China, and are distributed by Tristar Products, Inc. out of New Jersey. They are sold online through different websites, and are also sold through retail stores, like Costco, Bed Bath and Beyond, Walmart, Kohls, JC Penney, and many more.
Over the years, we’ve been able to investigate many claims of burn injuries as a result of the Power Pressure Cooker XL. There are several consistent claims we are seeing. Many victims state that after the Power Pressure Cooker completed its cooking cycle, they moved the steam valve to make sure no steam came out. They then opened the lid, and the lid popped off and caused liquid from inside the pressure cooker to explode all over them.
We’ve tested several samples of the Power Pressure Cooker and Power Cooker from Tristar, and found that there may be several problems with its design, instructions and manufacturing. Tristar appears to recognize that there is an issue with the float valve indicator system, but they have not publicly advised any prior owners of this issue. They even made a change to the design of the lid to add a new float valve indicator, but they did not replace any prior lids already on the market.
From our experience, there are several models of the Power Cooker and Power Pressure Cooker which could explode. These include the PPC770, PPC780, PPC780P, PC-TRI6, PCXL-PRO6, and PC-PRO8. Many of these pressure cookers look alike from the outside. You can see the model of your pressure cooker by looking at the label.
If you were injured by a pressure cooker, feel free to contact us and we can tell you what model it is and whether you might have a claim for your injuries.
Our office has resolved many pressure cooker claims already. We see similar injuries in these cases:
Burn Injuries – If a pressure cooker explodes, scalding hot liquid could fly out and severely burn anyone in the area of the splatter. We’ve seen cases of burns, blisters, melted skin, bleeding, and redness. Many 2nd or 3rd degree burns can require skin grafting, and possible medically induced coma. These burns can also lead to infection.
Scars – Severe burns could cause the victim’s skin to become permanently discolored, or leave scars. These injuries could require revision surgery or future medical care. These are residual injuries that Tristar and their insurance company should take into consideration.
Tristar put their name on many of these allegedly defective pressure cookers, but they didn’t actually make them. There are several different Chinese companies that made various models of the Power Pressure Cooker. We can inspect and examine your pressure cooker to see who may be responsible for your injuries.
At the Law Offices of Jason Turchin, we want safer products on the market. We hope that these companies will be more careful, knowing that we are watching what they are selling to the public. Our team of Florida pressure cooker lawyers, and national product liability attorneys can fight to get you the compensation you deserve.
